COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATES

SouthStar Urgent Care is partnering with the Louisiana Department of Health to coordinate the COVID-19 vaccine distribution and administration effort in Louisiana. The release of this vaccine will have a tiered approach with fast-paced updates please refer to this page for guidance on vaccine information, availability, and distribution.

As more vaccines become available from the CDC, more individuals and groups will be offered vaccinations. For added peace of mind, once you have received your vaccine you can use this app created by the CDC to help document post-vaccine activity: https://vsafe.cdc.gov/.

Who is eligible to receive the vaccine?

Beginning Monday, March 29, everyone in Louisiana ages 18 and older is eligible to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
(The Pfizer vaccine is available to those 16 and older.)

Drug and Alcohol Screening:

Drug and alcohol testing is a prerequisite for gaining and/or maintaining employment in most industries. Drug/alcohol abuse in the workplace can lower your productivity and revenue, as well as place other employees at risk of injury.  Our main goal at SouthStar is to help provide a safe, drug-free environment for all of your employees. Our certified collectors/technicians reliably perform drug testing consistent with DOT standards for either regulated or non-regulated purposes.

Employer Forms:

Do you already have an established account with SouthStar Urgent Care? Please click here to download our Service Order Form. To help keep healthcare as accessible as possible for our communities, we accept multiple forms of payment:

Insurance:
We accept all commercial insurance plans. A valid ID must be presented with your insurance card at the time of service. If you have any questions regarding your individual or family insurance plan, please visit your local clinic location with your ID and valid insurance card. Medicaid:
We accept all Louisiana Medicaid plans and Arkansas Medicaid.


Medicare:
We accept Medicare.


Self-Pay:
We offer a self-pay option for our customers, all costs will be discussed during the time of service. The total visit cost is determined by services provided for the patient’s specific care plan.

Upfront Costs:
Upfront costs will follow the customer’s specific payment resource case. (This could include applicable copay costs, deductible costs, self-pay costs, etc.)
